Hyundai has yet to announce its Ioniq 5 EV on official terms, but customers in Austria can already pre-order the First Edition. The company messed up the pre-order form, and though fixed quickly, people were able to disclose the full specs of the car.
As it turns out, the Ioniq 5 SUV has exactly 3 meters (9.84 feet) of wheelbase and comes powered by dual electric motors. The AWD powertrain is rated at 313 PS (309 hp / 230 kW) and draws its power from a 58-kWh traction battery. Getting from zero to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) is a matter of 5.2 seconds, and WLTP-rated driving range amounts to 450 km (280 miles).
Paid options include a larger battery rated for 550 km (342 miles), video cameras instead of side mirrors, and roof-mounted solar panels.
Shipments won’t begin until summer 2021.
