Hyundai must have looked at Microsoft – which released the Xbox Fridge once – when it designed its Ioniq Air Purifier using an early electric car prototype that it saved from the scrap press.
The ad video shows the entire process of disassembling the vehicle down to the last screw and re-profiling some parts to create an air purification appliance. The message is simple: recycle whenever you can and minimize waste.
The parts used in the project included the doors, the hood cover, the headlight assemblies and even the infotainment system. While it may be just an advertisement, we are inclined to believe the system works as intended.
Hyundai never mentioned whether any product like this would go on sale in the future, but even if it does not, color us impressed with the idea.
