On their evolutionary path from prototype to production vehicle, most cars start off as test mules and gradually take on production-ready looks. With the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, though, it seems to be the other way around.
The latest video from CarSpyMedia depicts the performance EV being tested on the Nürburgring in a new full-body wrap. Earlier photos showed it with no disguise at all.
Overall, it looks like the performance car will not differ that much from the standard Ioniq 5. It does ride on different wheels shod in thick, sticky tires, but that’s probably so that it may pass the corners of the North Loop with confidence.
Technical upgrades are definitely expected, too. The grapevine has it that the Ioniq 5 N will share the powertrain with the EV6 GT, meaning 589 PS (581 hp / 433 kW) and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft) going to the wheels.
