Hyundai rolls out Ioniq 5 N

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV lineup is welcoming its latest member, the sporty N version that comes with improved looks and strengths. Curb your expectations, though: the shipments will not begin until at least the next spring.

Compared to the standard Ioniq 5 model, the newcomer boasts an aggressive body kit, a large spoiler, flared wheel arches and new wheels. Inside, there is a different steering wheel, revised dashboard graphics and sport seats.

Power comes from a dual-motor system capable of revving up to 21,000 RPM and generating a combined 609 PS (601 hp / 448 kW). Furthermore, they can briefly boost their output to 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW).

The electronics on board offer smart features called N Drift Optimizer for drift enthusiasts and N Active Sound for engine sound imitation. An electronic rear diff lock is also provided.

The car is genuinely fast with a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint time of just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 260 km/h (161 mph). The battery capacity is 84 kWh, but all driving range estimations remain to be made.
