2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 touches down in Korea with even more comfort and range

Hyundai has shared the details of its Ioniq 5 facelift. The electric car launched in 2021 has stayed virtually unchanged on the outside, but got a more robust body design, advanced noise proofing and a superior battery, as well as an N Line trim package. Sales in South Korea will begin later this month; the other markets will follow later.

The old 77.4-kWh battery pack makes room for a new 84-kWh one. The company is still busy obtaining range certificates for it, so the mileage remains unknown. Even so, it is hinted to be better than the current 500 km (310 miles).

The body takes advantages of new hood braces, undercarriage plates and stiffer pillars all around. As a result, it vibrates much less and barely produces any noise. The rear electric motor has been specifically insulated in a separate casing to reduce these unwanted side effects further. Last but not least, the shock absorbers have been tweaked for greater long-distance comfort.

On the outside, you can recognize the facelift version by its updated bumpers (+20 mm / 0.8”), a new rear spoiler (+50 mm / 2”), and updated wheels. The interior layout has partially changed with the wireless charger moved to a different position, some physical buttons added and the steering wheel replaced with a new three-spoke design. Most electronic assist features have been upgraded, too.

Those willing to get a sportier-looking Ioniq 5 without the added cost of the N version will be interested in the N Line package. It introduces a more aggressive body kit, 20-inch wheels, an alternate cabin trim with sport seats, and an exclusive dashboard UI.
