Hyundai posts footage from the Ioniq 5 N Pikes Peak record

An all-electric Ioniq 5 N TA Spec crossover won gold in the Exhibition category of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in late June, crossing the finish line in 9 minutes 30.85 seconds. The Korean automaker has now posted a video from that record-breaking run.

The letters “TA” in the name stand for “Time Attack”, and it shows. The crossover looks very little like the car it is based upon, wearing a bespoke aero kit with a massive front splitter and a bulky rear wing, riding on new shock absorbers and custom wheels shod in Yokohama slicks.

The upgrades don’t end there, though. The dual-motor powertrain has been tuned as well with 37 PS (36 hp / 27 kW) added at the rear axle. The result is a combined 687 PS (678 hp / 505 kW) heading to all four wheels.

Check out the video to see how the driver fared on the challenging ascending trail to the accompaniment of an imitated engine soundtrack.
