Hyundai has treated us to new images of the upcoming Ioniq 6 EV, which is shaping up to be a sleek-looking sedan with an impressive ducktail spoiler at the rear almost entirely covered in LEDs.
Some parts of the body can be seen quite well. The overall silhouette is that of a coupe-like luxury saloon with original wheels, flush door handles, ‘pixelated’ lighting, air intakes in the bumpers and a camera instead of a side mirror.
It remains to be seen if the LED insert in the rear spoiler is supposed to replace the taillights or just add to them. More details will be revealed soon, although Hyundai does not specify whether the premiere will be dedicated to the final production version of the car or another design study.
It seems that the Ioniq 6 shares the E-GMP architecture with the marque’s other battery cars, as well as related Kias. It is expected to offer around 300 miles (480 kilometers) of range and either one or two electric motors. The former option will likely mean 218 PS (215 hp / 160 kW) reaching the wheels and the latter 313 PS (309 hp / 230 kW).
