Hyundai goes full-electric in Norway

It is official: starting in 2023, Hyundai will only be selling electric cars in Norway. According to InsideEVs, the company had analyzed its sales performance in that country over the past three years and concluded that it wouldn’t be detrimental to stop offering ICE cars altogether.

For the time being, the buyers will have to choose from three models: the Hyundai Kona, the Ioniq 5 and the Ioniq 6. Electric Hyundai sales in Norway accounted for around 90 percent of the corporation’s total sales in 2020 and 2021, and the result for this year is expected to be even greater with 93 percent or so.

Aside from this, Norway is currently Europe’s absolute leader in terms of the electrification of transports. About 80 percent of all new cars sold are electric in the country. Tesla remains the most popular choice.
