Media learned in summer last year that the Ioniq EV series would spawn a crossover SUV variant named the Ioniq 7. Production may only begin in 2024 or so, but the company has now announced a premiere set on November 17, 2021.
In the meantime, here are two teaser images previewing the Seven. One of these reveals some of the front end with the trademark Ioniq headlights, while the other, unexpectedly enough, previews a seat. Hyundai explains that the interior of the car will offer an experience comparable to that of a premium hotel.
The future e-SUV shares its underpinnings with the Ioniq 5 shown elsewhere in our gallery and also in the video attached to this article. The E-GMO chassis gives it a long wheelbase - perhaps longer than three meters in case of the new Ioniq 7. As for the powertrains, we would expect dual motors rated at 313 PS (309 hp / 230 kW) total and a traction battery sufficient for up to 500 km (310 miles) of range.
