The Hyundai Kona has been around since 2017 and received a mid-life refresh in 2020. The second generation is now coming, and this is what it looks like.
The photos were made in the snowy Sweden. There is a distinct feeling that the crossover SUV gained a fair bit of size – if so, it would only be logical, considering that Hyundai already has a similar SUV called Bayon in the same segment of the market. To prevent the two from cannibalizing each other’s sales, the automaker could very well decide to distance the new Kona from the Bayon.
The concept has an internal combustion engine under the hood, as evidenced by its exhaust system. It is still official that hybrid and EV variants will be available in the next generation, though. This is another aspect that differs the new Kona from the Bayon, which still relies on traditional engines alone.
