Beijing Hyundai Motor Co, a company co-founded between Hyundai and BAIC, is selling a number of sedans and SUVs as well as a minivan. The ix35 counts among its less popular models in China, and it looks like the Mufasa SUV will be phasing it out.
As you can see in the official photos, the crossover is rather stylish with a pronounced Tucson influence. That said, vertical headlights and a solid taillight strip make it stand out from that model.
When it arrives, the Mufasa will be driven by a two-liter naturally aspirated IC engine rated at 160 PS (158 hp / 118 kW). The drive will stay on the front axle. Earlier reports from Chinese mass media said a hybrid version was also likely, but it has not been confirmed yet.
