2022 Hyundai Palisade debuts in New York

Hyundai has brought the facelifted Palisade to the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS-2022). Sales are set to begin this summer.

Out of all the exterior changes, the biggest one concerns the radiator grille. The louvers become thinner from top to bottom in order to let in more air for the drivetrain. Curiously enough, they seem to stretch as far as the headlights, but the real headlights are mounted on the fenders. The lamps closer to the grille are actually DRLs.

There are fewer modifications in the back, where there is now a red reflector strip with integrated taillights and new square tailpipes in place of the old trapezoid ones.

Inside, the steering wheel and dashboard have been reworked considerably and the air vents merged into a rather elegant-looking stripe spanning the space between the dash and the passenger’s door. There is also a digital rearview mirror (i.e., display-based), a redesigned driver’s seat, tilting headrests, and ventilated second-row seats. The third row is heated, but not ventilated.

The same 3.8-liter V6 capable of 291 PS (287 hp / 214 kW) continues to provide the power. All-wheel drive is available at a premium.
