Hyundai has unveiled the refreshed Palisade at the NYIAS last month, presenting it with a 3.8-liter petrol V6 and no other powertrain options. Now, the full-size SUV has debuted in South Korea with a diesel option.
Many believed Hyundai would discontinue the diesel engine in favor of a more up-to-date one, but it never happened. The mill has four cylinders, 2.2 liters of displacement, and makes 202 PS (200 hp / 150 kW) and 441 Nm (435 hp / 324 kW) of torque. The transmission is eight-speed automatic, and you can get AWD for a premium.
The scope of novelty is otherwise the same as in the U.S. version revealed in April. The exterior has changed slightly with a new rectangular radiator grille that changes pattern depending on the trim level. Inside the cabin, a revised dashboard and a new steering wheel are the main additions.
Opting for the most affordable spec still nets you LED headlights, adaptive cruise control and a 12.3-inch infotainment display instead of the old 10.25-inch one. The deluxe Calligraphy and VIP trims are available, too, complete with 20-inch wheels, Nappa leather, comfortable seats and exclusive exterior color options. The second row is represented by two individual seats with in-built speakers and displays on the seat backs.
Prices on the domestic market begin from 38,670,000 Korean Won ($30,500 USD) for the petrol version and 40,140,000 KRW ($31,600) for the diesel one. Going for a luxury trim will cost you at least 50,700,000 KRW ($40,000).
