The year 2022 is not that far away anymore, but new car sales continue to struggle. The demand is there, but the ongoing microchip shortage prevents carmakers from producing at full capacity. It is therefore all the more impressive that the C8 Chevy Corvette managed to sell the most units in July and the Hyundai Santa Cruz in August.
According to iSeeCars.com, it took carmakers 9 days less on average (26 instead of 35) to produce and deliver their vehicles. It seems that companies have replenished their stock of semiconductor parts. Hyundai pulled ahead of the rest, taking only 8 days to assemble and deliver a Santa Cruz pickup. The C8 Corvette was barely behind with an 8.3-day cycle.
