Car spotters from China have obtained fresh photos of the Chery Tiggo 3x. The SUV looks just like the pre-facelift Hyundai Santa Fe, especially in terms of headlights, fenders and bumpers.
The new Tiggo will go on sale alongside the first generation and will receive the suffix “Plus” to tell it from the older version.
Novelty in the cabin includes an electronic parking brake, as well as redesigned dashboard, steering wheel and front panel. There are also occasional “fake carbon” trim details.
While not official, sources are reporting that the Tiggo 3x Plus gets to keep its old 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine capable of 116 hp (87 kW) and 143 Nm (105 lb-ft) of torque with CVT for gearbox. The EV version with 400 km of NEDC driving range should also remain on offer (watch the video if you would like a closer look at the current-gen Tiggo EV).
The launch will take place at the Auto China show in Beijing on September 26, 2020.
