2020 Hyundai Solaris/Verna facelift launched in China

Hyundai has unveiled its facelifted Verna sedan/saloon in Chengdu, China. The vehicle, which is also known as the Hyundai Solaris in some markets, has received updates in terms of both looks and tech.

The manufacturer has taken care to refresh almost the entire body kit, including both aprons, the front grille, the hood and the trunk lid. The rear end now looks more like that of the new Sonata, and the lighting all around is LED-based.

Inside, there is a BMW-style digital instrument cluster and a revised infotainment system with a larger touch-sensitive display that rises above the dashboard. Some trims also offer wireless smartphone charging capability.

In China, the new 2020 Hyundai Verna/Solaris will ship with a 1.4-liter gasoline engine rated at 100 hp (75 kW). The standard trim comes bundled with a six-speed manual transmission, while the more expensive trims benefit from a proprietary CVT design.

Options include lane control, frontal collision warning, and adaptive high beam.

Sales start in the fourth quarter of 2019.
