Hyundai Staria debuts in school bus form in South Korea

South Korean children will soon take this stylish Hyundai Staria Kinder bus to school.

Differences from the standard Staria minibus include roof-mounted light bars, a special yellow body finish, and ‘School Bus’ captions. The interior can accommodate between 11 and 15 passengers, and every seat comes equipped with a height-adjustable safety belt. The driver will get a notification if any of the passengers neglect to buckle up.

As a kid-friendly ride, the Hyundai Staria Kinder packs a number of safety features, including frontal collision prevention, lanekeeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and more.

Drivetrain details aren’t available at this time, but in Europe, the van is obtainable with a 2.2-liter diesel rated at 175 PS (173 hp / 129 kW) and 431 Nm (318 lb-ft) of torque. As an alternative, buyers can consider a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter petrol engine good for 272 PS (268 hp / 200 kW) and 331 Nm (244 lb-ft) of torque.
