First spy pics of the next-gen Hyundai Tucson now here

Test mule hunters have managed to get a next-gen Hyundai Tucson in their scopes for the first time. The compact crossover SUV should premiere sometime in 2020.

The current generation debuted at the 2018 New York International Motor Show. A special version, called the Tucson N Line, came out not long ago. Based on the current spy photos, the manufacturer has much more in stock for the series that just a facelift.

The prototype vehicle is well-camouflaged, but it maintains the recognizable Tucson profile while sporting a seriously revised front end.

In an earlier interview, the marque’s Design VP said the exterior of the car would strike absolutely everyone as beautiful. He even went as far as to claim that people would ‘freak out’ from sheer joy upon seeing it. That, of course, remains to be seen.

Rumor has it the next-gen Tucson ships with a 2.5-liter Theta3 engine on board linked to an eight-speed auto gearbox. Hybrid versions are also possible.
