Hyundai’s first mid-size pickup to debut in the USA in 2020

Hyundai has announced its first mid-size pickup truck designed for the North American market. The car, temporarily known only as the NX4-OB, should be introduced in 2020 and go on sale in 2021.

The manufacturer says the truck will be based on the next-gen Tucson platform. While it may be too early to talk specs, some sources assume it will ship with the new 2.5-liter GDi Theta III engine on board. A hybrid version should also appear later on. Their specifications remain a matter of speculation at the moment, though.

Production will take place in Hyundai’s Alabama works. Once the truck hits the showrooms, it is going to have to fend off such competitors as the Toyota Tacoma and the Chevrolet Colorado.
