Hyundai debuts Veloster N TCR racecar, costs U.S. $135,000

South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai has presented a racetrack version of its Veloster N hot hatchback at the motor show in Detroit. The car received a two-liter turbocharged engine rated at 350 hp (261 kW).

Bryan Herta Autosport, Hyundai’s partner team that piloted the i30 N TCR last season, will be the first to get the new rcaecar.

The new Veloster has a peculiar asymmetric door arrangement, with two doors on the right and one on the left.

Other than that, what we have here is more or less an updated version of the i30 N TCR: there is the same engine, the same XTrac six-speed gearbox and many other similar or matching components.

The Hyundai Veloster N TCR will be a U.S.-only release. As an authorized agent of the Hyundai Sport subdivision, Bryan Herta Autosport will sell the cars starting at U.S. $135,000.

If you want to see the new vehicle in action, stay tuned for the 24 Hours Daytona on January 25, 2019.
