Our readers likely remember a news story about the refreshed Hyundai Veloster coupe model shown during the 2018 Detroit Motor Show. We pointed out back then that the vehicle looked like a minor facelift of its predecessor model. Well, anyway, now it is available for purchase in its homeland of South Korea, with the U.S. release following a few months after.
The design team has decided to retain the main characteristic feature of their creation – the asymmetrical door layout. Apart from that, the new 2019 Hyundai Veloster got upgraded with a new chassis.
As for the interior, that’s where most of the changes took place. There is a new dashboard and a new steering wheel, an up-to-date infotainment system and a huge touch-sensitive display – in other words, all that’s needed to make the driver and passengers feel at home.
The car comes to the national market with two turbocharged T-GDI gasoline engines to choose from: a 1.4L with 140 hp and a 1.6L with 204 hp. U.S. customers will be able to buy their 2019 Hyundai Veloster with a 2.0L, 147-horsepower diesel unit. Last but not least, a high-performance Veloster N will come with a gasoline drive capable of 275 hp.
In its most basic variant, the new 2019 Hyundai Veloster comes with LED headlights, 17 or 18-inch alloy wheels, climate and cruise control, and a number of other features ensuring driver’s safety and comfort.
Prices begin at 21,350,000 South Korean won.
