Ineos Automotive has revealed the interior of its upcoming Grenadier SUV. Apparently, the design team drew inspiration from the cockpits of marine vessels, airplanes and tractors, where functionality comes ahead of luxury. In other words, the Grenadier cabin offers all you need and nothing besides.
This apparently includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen display and a small-sized digital dash screen instead of analog gauges. The center console features large buttons and knobs spaced wide enough to enable operation in gloves or by feel (i.e. without taking your eyes off the road). All captions are made in a large, clear, deliberately simple font. An off-road control panel sits on the ceiling accompanied by eight duplicate buttons for easy access to the car’s various systems.
The front seats are made by Recaro and trimmed with a water-repellant fabric resistant to wear-and-tear. There are drain holes in the floor, but you can still opt for a leather trim and carpet flooring if those are more to your liking. There is no sunroof option, but modest-sized hatches above the front seats can be ordered at a premium. The second row accommodates three passengers and features an airtight luggage compartment near the ceiling.
Pre-ordering will become available in October, while the first deliveries are scheduled to begin in July 2022.
