Infiniti Qs Inspiration Concept scheduled for Shanghai show premiere

Luxury carmaker Infiniti will enter the 2019 Auto Shanghai show with a new concept car called the Qs Inspiration, allegedly built on an “all-new, flexible architecture”. The company says it has developed the new chassis specifically for electrified and all-electric cars. It also claims that the model will eventually reach the mass market.

The Shanghai show car will sport an entirely new interior layout as seen by Infiniti designers, with the driver’s area separated from the so-called relaxation area.

Chances are pretty good that the new concept vehicle is a fresh take on the all-electric Nissan IMs saloon/sedan. The all-wheel-drive car came equipped with two electric motors jointly rated at 490 hp (365 kW) and packed a large 115 kWh traction battery rated for 600+ kilometers (375+ miles) of range. That said, Infiniti has been actively advertising its innovative VC-Turbo gas engine lately, so the Qs Inspiration might as well turn out to be a hybrid.

The company made another bold claim when it said that the production car would bring along no less innovation than the Infiniti Q45 it used to produce between 1989 and 2006. The latter came with an original suspension design, advanced ergonomics, quality interior trim, and a slew of comfort-oriented features.
