Infiniti says it will release its first all-electric car in 2021

The Japanese premium car brand Infiniti has voiced its plans to begin all-electric car production in 2021. Its design will take after the latest Q Inspiration concept which debuted at the Detroit car show a couple days ago.

The company plans to produce both full-electric and hybrid cars in the future. The latter will come with a small gasoline engine whose only purpose will be to bring the vehicle to a charging station and thus eliminate the need to charge it up out in the field.

The full-electric car model to be presented by Infiniti in 2021 will utilize a completely new vehicle platform. It will be developed in cooperation with Nissan, who already has some experience in battery-driven car production. According to Infiniti, one of the cars to debut in 2021 will look much like the Emerg-e Concept unveiled as early as 2012.
