Infiniti teases 2nd-gen QX60 interior, announces premiere

A recent video from Infiniti reveals some of the interior details of the upcoming second-generation QX60 SUV. The company will hold a global reveal on June 23, 2021, and launch the model in the USA and Canada this fall, followed by other markets later.

The crossover will be close to the Nissan Pathfinder in terms of tech. The U.S. version will keep its usual 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 rated at 299 PS (295 hp / 220 kW). The old variable transmission will make room for a new nine-speed automatic gearbox co-designed with ZF, resulting in a 20% gain in towing capacity. Specifically, the new generation will be able to haul trailers weighing up to 2,722 kg (6,000 lbs).

The drive modes will also be inherited from the Pathfinder, but there will be only 5 to switch between instead of 7. The car will feature an Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system with a smart hydraulic coupling that can monitor the situation in real time and engage AWD long before you can start skidding.

On the outside, the model will resemble the QX60 Monograph Concept from last year while not being its exact copy. The main additions inside will include a “floating” center tunnel and three dash screens.

According to Infiniti, the ProPilot system has got smarter in the next generation. It can now apply the brakes more softly for gradual deceleration, automatically change speed according to traffic signs, cruise at a set speed, and slow down before attempting turns.
