The vehicle known as Ripsaw starred in the movie internationally known as Fast & Furious 8 and several others. It will go on sale on May 12–20 expected to sell for $750,000 or close – its creator claims they spent that much building it.
The creator is a tuning shop named Howe&Howe. Founded by two brothers, the company unveiled the original Ripsaw 23 years ago to a vivid interest from the U.S. Military Forces. A number of such vehicles were built, some the driver’s seat and others without (they were remotely controlled).
After the initial launch, the model has gone through numerous modernizations and upgrades. It starred in F8 in 2017, the movie that grossed $1.24 billion worldwide and became one of the most successful films in history.
This particular example rolled out of the shop in 2009. It packed a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel mated to an Allison six-speed A/T and made 360 PS (355 hp / 265 kW). Sprinting from zero to 60 mph (96.6 km/h) was a matter of just three seconds for it.
The asking price was never announced, but Howe&Howe said the work on the Ripsaw cost $750,000. The example on sale in a good condition but needs maintenance after spending a long time standing motionless.
