In the video here, YouTuber Chad Burdett tells us a story of a man who equipped his Isuzu D-Max truck with five turbochargers and multiple nitrous oxide tanks.
The factory-standard Isuzu D-Max comes equipped with a simple four-cylinder turbo diesel rated at 187 hp (139 kW) and 447 Nm (330 lb-ft) of torque. This particular example did not have its engine swapped, so it currently has more turbines than cylinders. Regrettably, the specific performance numbers aren’t quoted anywhere.
Aside from the above, the truck sports chassis and suspension improvements, a five-speed manual transmission, semi-slick tires, and a stripped-down interior.
As you can see, the man had to remove the hood cover to fit everything in. We may not know just how viable the whole upgrade turned out to be, but there is no denying the thoroughness of the approach. The body paint, the titanium piping, the welding seams – everything looks neat and tidy, like something straight off the factory.
