Isuzu D-Max veers off the trodden path with Mudmaster Edition

Isuzu has mostly facelifted its D-Max lineup worldwide, but some countries - like the UK - still get the old version (see video). It has now been upgraded to a special off-road trim called the Mudmaster.

Opting for the limited package gets you a snorkel pipe, an expedition rack encircled with a LED band, a winch and some skid guards. The fenders are flared all around, and the sides wear thematic decals.

The pickup truck should also have less trouble climbing over rough terrain thanks to 45 mm (1.8 inches) of added clearance and new 20-inch wheels wrapped in Toyo Open Country A/T III tires. The cabin stays mostly stock except for rubber mats and wear-resistant seat covers.

Power for the pre-facelift UK-spec Isuzu D-Max comes from a 1.9-liter TDI engine rated at 164 PS (162 hp / 121 kW) and 360 Nm (266 lb-ft). All-wheel-drive is included as standard, and you can choose between 6MT and 6AT. Prices for the special edition start from £36,495.
