Stellantis Group can’t catch a break in Italy. Back in 2023, the American corporation promised to construct three EV factories worldwide, including one in the country, but still hasn’t even presented a clear project schedule.
Based on this, the authorities of Italy are threatening the company with revoking their promised funding in the amount of €370,000,000 unless some clear progress is made on the construction site.
The caveat is that, with the global EV market experiencing a distinct cooldown, it may no longer be viable for Stellantis to start battery production in Europe. There has been no official response from the company yet.
