Watch the electric JAC Sehol E10X get utterly annihilated in a crash test

Latin NCAP has conducted a series of crash tests with the all-electric JAC Sehol E10X and ended up with results that not even “zero stars out of five” can properly convey.

The test crew emphasized that the EV would be incredibly dangerous for the driver, all passengers and anyone else involved in an accident. In the video, you can see the car suffer a head-on impact followed by a lateral collision and a rear-end bump. The sheer extent of damage can be seen with the naked eye, but just in case you needed it spelled out, Latin NCAP says adults are completely unprotected from life-threatening injury of all kinds.

The children – even if properly fastened with a safety belt in a proper child seat – are protected to 6.3%, which is also critically and unacceptably low. To add insult to injury, the performance of the standard safety systems was found to be every bit as disastrous as the rest of the design at 7%.

If, for any reason in the world, you were somehow still considering buying a Sehol E10X because of its low price or something, consider also that the traction battery failed to disengage from the drivetrain during the crashes and continued supplying power, a sure way for the electric car to burn down to a lump of molten metal within minutes of the collision.
