Automaker JAC has introduced Yiwei 3, an all-electric five-door hatchback emanating retro vibes. The model became the first member of the new Yiwei car family and is already available starting from 89,900 CNY.
The car is 4,025 mm long, 1,770 mm wide and 1,560 mm tall with 2,620 mm between the axles. Its main design traits are smooth outlines, a bi-color paint and LED headlights with rings composed of 137 diodes each.
The interior offers leather trim, a two-spoke steering wheel and a couple of displays on the dash. The instrument cluster is almost smartphone-sized at 6.2 inches of diagonal size, but the multimedia display ranges from 12.8 to a solid 15.6 inches depending on the trim level. Surround view cameras, a panoramic glass roof and a Level 2 self-driving suite are also on the equipment list.
There are two motor options: 95 PS (94 hp / 70 kW) and 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW). Only the front wheels are driven regardless of the spec. The standard battery has 41 kWh of power capacity and translates into 405 km (251 miles) of range on a charge. Opting for a larger 51.5-kWh pack will get you 505 km (313 miles) of range per the China standard. Later on, JAC plans to add a third option with 600 km (373 mi) to the lineup.
