Jaguar Land Rover is currently researching a technology that would enable your car to check if you are drowsy or otherwise not in top shape – and fix that for you, if possible.
Specifically, the system will analyze the driver’s level of fatigue and current mood using cameras and biometric sensors. If necessary, it will automatically adjust the climate control settings, switch to a different music genre, or toggle ambient lighting.
Before it can be used to its full capacity, the innovative AI-powered feature will first have to learn to recognize your individual emotional patterns. During this learning stage, it will react to the slightest changes in your mimics and motions. Ultimately, it will hone its skills to usable levels and even start respecting your personal preferences.
Jaguar Land Rover has another similar tech in development, although that one is intended for the rear passengers. Whenever someone in the rear seat feels drowsy and ready to fall asleep, the system will automatically adjust the environment so as to minimize the distractions and help them have a good nap.
