Luxury automaker Kincsem has announced the development of Hyper-GT, a part-electric supercar inspired by the never-produced Jaguar C-X75 Concept (see our gallery and the video). Ian Callum himself takes part in the project.
The original concept car had four electric motors, a traction battery and two miniature gas turbines, combining them for 790 PS (779 hp / 581 kW) and 1,600 Nm (1,180 lb-ft) of torque. A later prototype car ditched two of the electric motors in favor of a 1.6-liter turbo four-pot, which raised its power to 900 PS (888 hp / 662 kW).
As for the upcoming Hyper-GT, it packs four motorized wheels and a 300-hp (224-kW) naturally aspirated engine serving as a power generator (range extender) for the motors.
No estimated dates were given, but we expect a full-size mockup of the superhybrid to debut in the coming fall.
