This mid-engined Jaguar C-X75 was one of seven such cars made for the 2015 Spectre, the 24th instalment in the James Bond Franchise. It is perhaps the most symbolic car of the bunch with a chassis number 007, and the seller wants an eye-watering £864,000 for it.
Rumor has it that all seven vehicles survived the shooting. This particular one had originally been intended as a stunt double of the main car, but ended up redundant. Mr. Hinks (Dave Battista) drives it in the movie, particularly in the Aston Martin DB10 chase scene in Rome (watch the video for a reminder).
The original C-X75 debuted in Paris 11 years ago to celebrate the British automaker’s 75th birthday. It had been intended for small-scale production in 2012-2013, but ongoing financial difficulties forced Jaguar to abandon the project. The 250 units planned were never produced.
Unlike the show car that hit the spotlight in Paris with dual gas-turbine engines, the movie car makes do with a rather more common five-liter V8. It also foregoes monocoque in favor of a space frame. Both vehicles have been designed by Williams Advanced Engineering, though, so they have plenty in common.
The supercar on sale was built for the movie and never certified in any way, so it cannot be made street-legal.
