Caton, a recently established sports car brand, is getting ready to premiere its first two-seat car inspired by 1950s-era designs. The full reveal will take place on April 21, 2022.
In the meantime, here is a teaser image showing a darkened silhouette of the model. There is a distinct impression that the design team went for cloning the Jaguar C-Type (look at the other pics in the gallery and compare for yourself). It is official that, rather than offering a new/modern perspective on a classic car, the company plans to build highly precise copies of retro cars with only limited use of modern tech.
Tim Strafford, CEO of Envisage Group, said it would be an exciting reincarnation of an icon, and would set new standards in coachbuilding. Envisage Group is a manufacturing partner of Caton.
Powertrain details remain secret, but the company says the performance will go up considerably compared to the original.
