Artfully restored Jaguar E-Type costs nearly $0.6M

Helm is a tuning company that seemingly aspires to Singer Vehicle Design levels of greatness. After introducing the world to its revived Mercedes SL-Class (R107), it has now premiered a gorgeous Jaguar E-Type restomod.

A 13-minute long review by Carfection covers the project in detail, so we are only going to highlight a few of the more interesting points. Both the exterior and interior have been painstakingly restored by hand. The doors now have soft-close mechanisms to keep them safe, while the outdated lighting, brakes and suspension have all been replaced with upmarket modern counterparts.

A 3.8-liter inline-six engine under the hood produces 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW) and 407 Nm (300 lb-ft) of torque, which is not at all bad for a relatively lightweight classic. Inside, there is a serviceable climate control system, and the leather upholstery has been designed by none other than bag designer Bill Amberg.

The price holds no surprises for anyone familiar with restomods of this caliber: £420,000, or nearly $590,000 USD.
