Jaguar Classic has revealed a restomod it built against a special order of a person who wanted the car driven at a Jaguar classics parade during the celebration of the Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s 70 years on the throne.
The customer specifically requested the donor vehicle to be a Jaguar assembled in his year of birth. Not only did Jaguar Classic manage to procure just such an example, it even managed to get its hands on a car made within a few days from the customer’s birth date.
The Jaguar E-Type Series I then underwent a complete restoration and was repainted in a special shade of blue reminiscent of that on the British flag. The interior received a suitable trim in red, continuing the flag theme. The traditional color of a British mailbox also was an inspiration for the project.
Found inside the unique restomod is a 1DIN-sized infotainment system draped over in retro paneling, but still offering a touch-sensitive interface, satellite navigation and Bluetooth support.
Out flew the stock 4.2-liter engine, and a new 4.7-liter one took its place under the hood. The engineers used the same innovative five-speed manual transmission they designed for other such restoration projects.
Elsewhere, the roadster features suspension improvements, upgraded brakes, a different exhaust system and LED lighting all around.
Creating this one-off masterpiece took almost a year. All prices are private information.
