This Jaguar E-Type is in great condition and barely used, but not genuine

A replica of the legendary E-Type roadster from the 1960s has cropped up on sale in the USA. It is called the Jaguar E-Type Low Drag Coupe Re-Creation and is the left-hand-drive example out of only two ever made.

Back in the era, Jaguar had experimented with sleek car body design and came up with a prototype called Low Drag Concept. According to different sources, between one and three such vehicles were created. Diez drew inspiration from the Low Drag Concept in his work, endowing the replica with a similar-looking aluminum body, albeit with subtly tweaked proportions.

He also picked a 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine that was similar in design to the mill powering the original E-Type, pairing it with a five-speed manual gearbox. He bumped up the output from the original’s 265 to a cool 380 PS (from 261 to 375 hp; from 195 to 279 kW, respectively). Koni shock absorbers and 15-inch magnesium alloy wheels were used for a smoother and more modern driving experience.

The example on sale has the serial number “OWL226” and has been driven for a touch over 1,200 kilometers (745 miles) since production in 2019.
