Famous ex-Chief Designer of Jaguar, Ian Callum, said in a recent interview that the next generation of the F-Type could be based on the nine-year-old C-X75 Hybrid Concept and rival the Porsche 911 in terms of specs.
According to him, the management of the company is currently deciding what kind of powertrain to give the updated sports car. The number one option is a single powerful electric motor in the middle position, however, a V8-based hybrid system at the front end is also a possibility.
The latest Jaguar F-Type (see the gallery) will remain in stock for around three years and get a couple mid-generational updates within this period. Despite this, Callum says, the company will start designing the new generation as soon as possible.
