The Jaguar F-Type will retire, but not without a send-off special

About a year ago, Jaguar announced its intention to become an all-electric carmaker by 2025. Today, it confirmed that the gas-powered F-Type will go out of production before the end of the year.

To pay respects to the driver-oriented F, as well as to celebrate 75 years in business, Jaguar will be issuing two batches of exclusive F-Type cars decorated with style upgrades but retaining their original drivetrains.

The family will consist of a limited number of F-Type 75 units (450 PS / 444 hp / 331 kW) and some F-Type R 75 units packing superior power (575 PS / 567 hp / 423 kW). The former offers a choice between RWD and AWD, while the latter has four driven wheels at all times. Both variants come equipped with a rear-wheel differential and adaptive suspension.

Exterior differences will boil down to a green finish, original 20-inch wheels, badges and pixelated LEDs. The only difference in the cabin will come in the form of new bucket seats.

The sales will begin in the early 2023, Jaguar says.
