Jaguar Land Rover attended the 2019 World Congress for Self-Driving Transport in Dubai, UAE, with an autonomous car concept based on the I-Pace chassis. Today, the company released photos showing the prototype running tests on Dubai streets.
The car features an enhanced traffic detection and analysis system that incorporates a radar, several cameras and a detailed map of the area. It can also read the traffic lights.
This is not the only autonomous vehicle project pursued by JLR. Last year, the company introduced an autonomous capsule with virtual eyesight (see the attached video). Dual cameras were used to imitate direct eye contact between the car and the pedestrians.
