Vlogger Dan Trent invited test pilot Dale Lomas to test the all-electric SUV Jaguar I-Pace against some of the company’s best gas-powered models, specifically an F-Type SVR and an XE SV Project 8.
In the end, both V8 cars ran empty on gas after only three laps, while the I-Pace was able to cover between four and six laps per charge every time. Furthermore, refueling a gas-powered vehicle at the ‘Ring involves waiting in a rather long queue (up to an hour), while topping the battery is possible within 30 minutes. Nürburgring management said it would be adding more EV charging stations in the future to meet the growing demand.
Multiple Jaguar I-Pace SUVs are currently cruising the Nürburgring as ‘racing taxi cabs’, an attraction the company has introduced for wealthy tourists. The cars are reportedly completely stock.
