In addition to mapping the world and shooting panoramas, the Google Street View team will soon begin monitoring the air condition in cities worldwide. To this end, the company will be acquiring multiple Jaguar I-Pace crossovers later this year to patrol the streets of Dublin.
The corporation has talked this initiative out with Jaguar Land Rover, and will be outfitting the cars with Aclima sensors capable of assessing harmful emission levels.
Google will process the information thus collected automatically, and the research team will conduct an analysis to share their findings with Dublin city authorities.
