Jaguar i-Pace vs. Tesla Model X: Who’s the fastest?

Authors of the YouTube channel /carwow have long been wondering which car was the fastest, the Tesla Model X or the Jaguar i-Pace. To put an end to the speculations, the guys have organized a three-stage racing event: a drag race, riding in a straight line, and braking from 70 mph (112.6 km/h) to a standstill.

The Jaguar i-Pace was pitted against two variants of Tesla Model X, the 100D and the P100D. The British all-electric vehicle comes equipped with two motors with a total of 400 hp (298 kW) and 696 Nm (513 lb·ft) of torque, partnered with a 90 kWh traction battery. It can accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.8 seconds.

The Tesla Model X 100D features an engine with 417 hp (311 kW) and 660 Nm (487 lb·ft) of torque. It can attain the same acceleration in five seconds flat.

Finally, the Tesla Model X P100D packs a drivetrain capable of 770 hp (574 kW) and 967 Nm (713 lb·ft) of torque. It storms the 100 km/h mark in 3.1 seconds.

The Tesla Model X P100D won the drag race with 11.4 seconds, followed by the Jaguar i-Pace (12.8 s) and the Tesla Model X 100D (13.2 s). The Jaguar i-Pace lost the straight-line ride to both Tesla cars, but proved to be the most efficient in braking.
