A Jaguar I-Pace from the British Royal Family’s garage, a rare example finished in blue, has just been sold at an auction for £64,960 (U.S. $82,200). That’s not much, considering you can get a new I-Pace in the UK starting from £70,000 ($88,500).
It was the Royal Family’s first full-electric vehicle in the fleet. King Charles III personally used it, as did other members of the royal court. The listing points out that the family purchased the EV for its own money.
When it rolled off the assembly line, the car was finished in Grey Metallic. It was immediately resprayed in Loire Blue, though, making it the world’s only I-Pace model to wear this shade. White leather was chosen for the interior, and the buyer ticked off all the available options.
With barely above 4,800 km (3,000 miles) under its belt from three years of use, the EV returned to the Jaguar dealership that sold it. It spent some time in private hands and has now been sold again with 56,300 km (35,000 miles) on the counter. The listing points out that it enjoyed regular maintenance and was in impeccable condition at the moment of sale.
