Feat your eyes on an exotic Jaguar S-Type R with some mods slapped on

Jaguar had its eyes set on the lucrative market segment occupied by the BMW M5 and the Mercedes-AMG E-Class back in the early 2000s, so it took its S-Type sedan, put a blown V8 under its hood and called the result the “R” version. It came fairly late to the party and never became a success, but a slightly modded, barely used example has just cropped up on sale.

The four-door ride has a Grey Quartz exterior with silver highlights around the glass dome and black trim on the front end. Wheel arches are occupied by 19-inch forged rims sporting a combo finish, and Tein coilovers help keep the ride height low. Rounding things off on the outside is a stylish body kit, custom exhaust finishers and a ventilated hood.

The interior stays untouched unless you count those aftermarket floor mats, and the odometer reads 17,059 km (10,600 miles). A 4.2-liter supercharged V8 hits the crank with 395 PS (390 hp / 290 kW). Back in 2003 when it was new, the model lagged nearly 100 horsepower (75 kW) behind the competition and had other flaws that quickly sealed its future. Right now, it is considered a lesser-known British automotive exotic.
