A tuned-up Jaguar XE SV Project 8 sedan – a representative of a limited series of just 300 cars – has set a new record in the Sedan category on the Nürburgring Grand Prix race track.
The latest creation of the British automotive industry covered the entire distance in 7 minutes 21.23 seconds. This is 11 seconds below the previous record held by Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. The race car was piloted by Vincent Radermecker, a Belgian BTCC/WTCC ex-pilot. Car electronics operated in the race track mode.
As we told in an earlier story, the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 was introduced to the wide public this summer. The tuned-up vehicle came with a 5-liter, 8-cyliner engine rated at 600 hp, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 60 mph) in 3.3 seconds and travel at a maximum of 320 km/h (~200 mph).
The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 received carbon body moldings, reworked suspension and carbon-ceramic disc brakes. Its price constituted £149,995.
