The Jaguar XF Sportbrake estate/wagon may be two years younger than its sedan/saloon counterpart, but it still needs a mid-generational refresh. These latest spy pics stem from the Nürburgring, Germany.
With the prototype camouflage being what it is, all novelty is pretty much speculative at this point. We’d expect the new XF to get redesigned headlights, bumpers and radiator grille. Changes inside will likely include better trimming materials overall, a new steering wheel, I-Pace climate controls, and F-Type dashboard styling.
The car’s supercharged V6 with 380 hp (283 kW) will likely yield its place to an Ingenium inline-six unit. A new six-cylinder turbo diesel is also possible.
The facelifted Jaguar XF lineup should celebrate its premiere soon enough and go on sale later this year. That said, the facelift might end up being the last for the model, because multiple sources are reporting that Jaguar plans to put the XF and XE out of production. What new model would be coming to replace them remains unknown.
