According to Ian Callum, director of design at Jaguar, the next-generation Jaguar XJ sedan is going to be “something quite special”.
“We've gone through a lot of debate on the XJ and come up with something quite special,” he said in an interview. He added that he would make sure the new vehicle “holds onto the values of the first one and the latest one.”
He declined to disclose anything more specific than that, however, simply stating that a public presentation of the new luxury car happens next year He also assured that the new Jaguar XJ would mark a milestone – not just for its creators, either, although the company does celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2018. Such modern automotive trends as making cars autonomous and shifting from fossil fuel to electricity are going to soon change our old ways and traditions completely. So that’s something to look forward to, at least.
