Have a look at a rare Jaguar worth $1.4M

A 31-year-old Jaguar XJR-15 will go under the hammer soon expected to fetch between $1.2 and $1.4 million USD thanks to its excellent condition and rarity: out of 53 units made in total, only 27 were street-legal like this one.

The Jaguar XJR-15 was essentially a road-going modification of the XJR-9 endurance racer that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1988 and 1990, among other prestigious championships. It sports a carbon-fiber monocoque construction and the same racing-grade suspension as its parent. The bodywork is a mix of carbon fiber and Kevlar bits.

A peek under the hood reveals a 6.0-liter V12 with an aluminum block assembly, Cosworth forged pistons and a dry-sump system. The track version of the car utilized a TWR six-speed gearbox with a carbon clutch, but its road-friendly counterpart makes do with five-speed manual. The engine produced 450 PS (444 hp / 331 kW) back in its glory days and could take the supercar to 340 km/h (211 mph) and even beyond.

This particular example once belonged to an engineer of Nismo Racing Japan, who used it to test innovative solutions in aerodynamics and energy recuperation. The supercar was subsequently reverted to its OEM state and has since only made around 1,500 kilometers (930 miles).
